RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS

At The Patch Primary, Respectful Relationships is embedded across our wellbeing approach and daily practice. We teach students the skills to build healthy friendships, understand their emotions, and solve problems in safe and supportive ways. Through age-appropriate lessons, students explore topics such as emotional literacy, resilience, positive coping, help-seeking, and navigating social situations with kindness and confidence. In Prep–2, this includes playful, hands-on activities like role-plays, story-based discussions, and collaborative games that help children practise turn-taking, empathy, and early conflict-resolution skills. In Years 3–6, students engage more deeply with concepts such as gender equality, help-seeking, respectful communication, and taking action to support others.

Our commitment to Respectful Relationships supports a whole-school culture where every child feels valued, safe, and connected—and where respectful behaviour is modelled and celebrated every day.
